American Made Knives for Everyday Use
Buy once, buy for life
Knives are one item you absolutely don't want to cheap out on. The difference between a well made blade and a cheap knockoff is huge, not just in terms of blade sharpness and durability, but also in terms of length of service and reliability in the field.
To help you find your "knife partner" (get it?), we've put together this list of made in USA blades constructed of high quality materials by manufacturers that have been doing it for decades. You really can't go wrong here.
2. Buck 110 Folding Hunter Knife with Genuine Leather Sheath
Buck knives have been made in America since 1945, beginning in Kansas with father son duo Hoyt and Al Buck. This particular model, the Folding Hunter, has been in production for 50 years and is one of the best selling knives in the country. Its sharp point makes it excellent for detail work and its size makes it a great everyday carry option.
5. Chris Reeve Sebenza 21
A step up in price from most of the knives on this list, the Sebenza 21 is a study in minimalist perfection. Sporting S35VN blade and a titanium handle, this knife is light, sharp, and will literally last a lifetime (and if it doesn't, it comes with a lifetime warranty). Though founder Chris Reeve started the company in South Africa in 1984, they moved to Boise, Idaho in 1989 and have been making knives in the good ole US of A ever since.
8. Spyderco C81GPBK ParaMilitary 2 G-10 Plain Edge Knife (Black/Bla
Hands down, the best "do it all" blade on the list. The proprietary Spyderco lock makes it feel sturdier than just about any folder blade on the market, and it can be used equally well as a high end kitchen knife and an all purpose field tool. Great, great knife.
